MOSCOW, Idaho -- The Idaho Men's Tennis team dropped its final regular-season match on the road against Northern Arizona.
Idaho continues to fight against a season that has been physically taxing to its players. The Vandals entered their match with four of their athletes battling injuries. In an attempt to remain resilient, the Vandals marched on into doubles play.
In the doubles match, Idaho had difficulty finding a rhythm against the Regular Season Big Sky Conference champions as NAU took the early momentum point. Throughout this exchange, another one of Idaho's players sustained a shoulder injury, forcing UI to enter into singles play with just five of its nine-man roster.
Automatically forfeiting the six-spot, the Brave and Bold found themselves down 2-0 early on. Despite Vandal freshman Valentine Glasl, and Vandal sophomore
Noe De Col pushing their strong NAU opponents to third sets, the Vandals were unable to put any points on the board ,resulting in a final score of 7-0 in favor of NAU
Idaho will remain in Arizona for the time being, looking to recover and enter the Big Sky Conference tournament with a healthy roster.
UP NEXT: Idaho will be competing in the Big Sky Conference tournament, April 23 at 8 a.m., where they are set to take on the No. 4 seed Montana State in Phoenix, Arizona.
