Amadike, Moroder Headline All-Big Sky Awards for Idaho Men's Tennis

MOSCOW, Idaho – On Wednesday, the Big Sky Conference announced its annual All-Conference awards for Men's and Women's Tennis, recognizing the league's top talent throughout the 2026 season. A campaign of grit and determination for the Idaho men's team was rewarded with a pair of standouts earning nominations as singles players and as a doubles pair.

SINGLES
CHETANNA AMADIKE – Idaho's lone senior and team captain, Chetanna Amadike, has unanimously been awarded the All-Conference First Team title for the 2026 season. In his final season for the Vandals, Amadike went 15-9 overall, taking some notable wins competing in the one-spot against No. 62 Boise State, Grand Canyon, Utah, and No. 56 Gonzaga at the time of the contest. In his last ten matches, he excelled, with a 7-3 record. The senior notably earned four individual Big Sky Player of the Week nods during the season, tying both the program and the league's single-season records in that category. Amadike was named Honorable Mention for singles play in 2025, making 2026 the second straight year of honors.

GABRIEL MORODER – Italian sophomore Gabriel Moroder has claimed an All-Conference Second Team nod after having an electric season. The second-year Vandal went 12-11 on the season, including a 5-1 tally in Big Sky play. In three straight competitions vs. Power conference opponents in February and March, Moroder went 3-0 in his singles competitions, picking up two wins vs. Gonzaga and one vs. BYU in three weeks.

DOUBLES
AMADIKE & MORODER – The Vandals dynamic duo has earned an All-Big Sky Conference Second Team Doubles decoration. The two competed in the #1 and #2 spots throughout the season, finishing the regular season with a 12-7 overall record and going 3-1 in conference. This marks back-to-back doubles honors for Amadike, who was named to the second-team in 2025.

The singles honor for Idaho is the first First-Team award for Idaho since Francisco Bascon won three straight from 2021-23, and marks the Vandals' return to the top of the singles ladder. In the eleven seasons since UI returned to the Big Sky in 2014 (no awards were given in 2020 due to the pandemic), an Idaho Vandal earned First Team Singles honors in eight of them.

UP NEXT: Idaho will be competing in the Big Sky Conference tournament, April 23 at 8 a.m., where the Vandals are set to take on the No. 4 seed Montana State in Phoenix, Arizona.
