MOSCOW, Idaho – The Idaho Men's Tennis team will travel 145 miles from Flagstaff to sunny Phoenix, Arizona to compete in the 2026 Big Sky Conference Championship. The Vandals will be competing as the #5 seed.
The Vandals open the tournament head-to-head with the #4 seed, Montana State, whom they have faced earlier this season. After a hard-fought match, the Vandals ultimately fell in the 3-4 match on the final court, coming just short of the Vandal Victory. The Bobcats are coming off a loss against Montana in their final match before the tournament. The Vandals are also coming off a loss against Northern Arizona with an injured roster.
The Vandals have been led this season by lone senior Chetanna Amadike. Amadike was named Big Sky Conference Player of the Week four times this year; he looks to add a couple more wins to his tally at the Big Sky Conference Tournament. After a tough season dealing with injuries, the Vandals notched notable wins against fellow conference members Idaho State, Sacramento State, and Weber State.
The first matches will take place on Thursday, April 23, at 8:00 a.m. The winner will turn to face Big Sky Conference regular season champions Northern Arizona the following day at 8:00 a.m.
