Vandals Continue to Build at Cougar Classic

PULLMAN, Wash. - Under blue skies at Washington State University's Mooberry Track, 10 Vandals took meet victories, headlined by Tyler Graff's season-best performance in the 3000m steeplechase and a 26.53 from Naomi Taylor in the 200.

Taylor shaved over a tenth off her previous season best from April's Jeff Rahn Classic. On the men's side, Mateo Ganje led a trio of Vandals in the men's 200, running a 21.64. Myron Rethymniotakis reset his personal record, flying to a 21.70 alongside Logan Peterson, who did the same with a 22.57. In his first career 100m dash, Rethymniotakis posted an impressive 10.91 to take second in the event, ahead of Idaho's Cash Jones, JaRae Long, and Mateo Ganje.

UI swept the top four spots in the women's long jump behind strong performances from Sydnie Zywina, Jada Miller, and Mara Fuerniss, who all came within 25cm of their personal bests. Gioele Tengattini and Kathryn Burnette each claimed victory in the shot put for Idaho, as the Vandals finished one-two in the women's competition with Tesse Kamps' 13.95m throw. After fouls on each of her first four attempts, Amanda Munoz soared to first in the triple jump after an 11.87m final jump.
