PHOENIX, Ariz. - After advancing to the second round with a dominant performance over Eastern Washington, Idaho Women's Tennis concluded the 2025-26 season with a 1-4 loss to Sacramento State in the semifinals. 

Coming off a bye as the top seed in the bracket, the Hornets came out hot from the opening serve, taking the doubles point in two opportunities. Jessica Matthews and Naomi Schraeder were at an even draw with their opposition before the point was decided. 

In response, Ida Johannson opened singles play with a dominating effort on court four, posting a shutout in the first set and winning the second handily to even the score at 1-1. From there, Sac State got into a rhythm, taking three in a row to clinch the berth to the title match. They will take on Northern Arizona on Saturday.

With the loss, Idaho's season comes to an end at 11-11. The Vandals finished 4-4 in Big Sky play in the regular season, with the notable victory over the then #58 Hornets in Moscow.
