Men's Golf and Volleyball Named Big Sky Academic Champions

FARMINGTON, Utah - The Big Sky Conference released its 2025-26 academic champions on Friday, showcasing the best-performing teams in the classroom from around the league, over the course of the entire 2025-26 academic year.

For the third straight year, Idaho had at least two teams featured in the awards, men's golf (3.77) and volleyball (3.76). Vandal men's golf earned the award with a 3.77 GPA, after having five student-athletes earn a 4.00 GPA in the spring semester. 2026 marks the second time in the last three years that David Nuhn's squad was the top academic team in the conference.

Volleyball ascended to the Big Sky's academic crown after a program-best 3.78 GPA in the spring and a department-leading 3.75 GPA in the fall semester. Their combined year-long GPA of 3.76 saw 10 student-athletes post a perfect 4.00 over the two academic periods.

Idaho's 2026-27 academic year begins on August 24, while Vandal soccer kicks off the fall season for UI athletics with an exhibition match against Oregon at the P1FCU Kibbie Dome on Saturday, August 8.
