Women’s Hoops Receives 2026-27 Big Sky Slate

MOSCOW, Idaho - Idaho Women's Basketball has received the Big Sky schedule for the 2026-27 season, putting the defending conference champions against a new-look conference that grows in parity each year.

The Vandals are coming off of undeniably one of the most dominant seasons in program history in the second year under Arthur Moreira, where they opened the year by knocking off Palouse foe Washington State in Pullman and capped off regular season play by winning 18 straight games en route to an outright regular season title and Starch Madness championship to earn a bid to March Madness.

With the addition of Utah Tech and Southern Utah to bring the league to 11 teams, the black and gold will play a total of 20 league games in the regular season, aiming to secure another top seed in the bracket. The 26-27 slate includes home and road contests with every other conference team, including two early-season matchups against Northern Colorado and Portland State front-loaded to the first week of December before resuming the rest of the Big Sky contests on New Year's Eve.

Spring classes are set to commence on Wednesday, January 13, 2027, just one day before the Vandals host the Montana Lady Griz, followed by contests against Montana State and Weber State in the next four days, all at ICCU Arena. The annual "Battle of King Spud" rivalry will also return with Gem State foe Idaho State. The final two matchups to determine who will retain the starchy relic for the coming year will take place on Mar. 1, the regular season finale for both teams.

Heading into Moreira's third season at the helm, Idaho brings back a lot of key pieces from last year's title team. Hope Hassmann, Ana Pinheiro, and Ella Uriarte mark the returners from last season's starting lineup and will be joined by newcomers Keanna Salave'a, Alexia Dagba, Brynna Pukis, and more to load up the roster for another championship pursuit.
