SALT LAKE CITY, Utah - Hayden Kincheloe ran for his second career touchdown and Joshua Wood broke free for a 22-yard touchdown score, as Idaho fell to 0-2 after a 14-66 loss against No. 21 Utah.

UI received the ball to start the game, but struggled to find any offensive rhythm in the first quarter. The Utes began their first offensive possession off an early takeaway just outside of the red zone, where they would capitalize with a score. Utah continued to build momentum ending the quarter with a 17-0 lead, using a crowd of more than 55,000 to their advantage.

The Vandal offense lit a spark in the second quarter, with Kincheloe breaking loose for a 17-yard run to set the Vandals up on the Utah 45. Idaho continued to piece together plays, with the Homedale native eventually finding the end zone on a 3-yard run up the middle to put the Black and Gold on the board following a 13 play, 75 yard drive. Utah's offense continued to roll, taking a 31-7 lead to the locker room at halftime.

The second half maintained the same narrative for the Vandals. Idaho would find the end zone following a 44-yard catch by Noah West-Baranco that would bring UI to the Utah 22-yard line. Wood scored on a 22-yard rush to cut into the Utes' lead. Once Utah regained possession, the attack remained steady, scoring 21 in the final frame to push the final score to 14-66.

UP NEXT: The Vandals return home for their home opener against Lamar on Saturday, September 12 inside the P1FCU Kibbie Dome. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m., with the game airing on SWX, ESPN+, and the Vandal Radio Network.
