
Our Mission:
Student-Athlete Support Services is committed to the education and success of student-athletes at the University of Idaho. We provide comprehensive academic support services in a student-athlete centered environment to ensure the University of Idaho continues to produce well rounded, employable graduates.
To fulfill this mission, Student-Athlete Support Services:
- Fosters positive, meaningful relationships within the Athletics Department and larger Vandal community.
- Maintains an inclusive, open and collaborative environment to ensure all student-athletes have access to high quality academic support services.

What We Offer:
Academic Support
Each team, and student-athlete, at the University of Idaho will have access to a designated member of the Student-Athlete Support Services staff who will assist them in reaching their academic goals. Student-Athlete Support Services staff will:
- Provide individualized academic support and planning for student-athletes
- Assist in the class registration and scheduling process
- Monitor NCAA Academic Eligibility Â
- Communicate regularly with both coaching staff and faculty regarding individual students
- Connect student-athletes to tutorial services and additional resources throughout the University of Idaho campus

Learning Services
Student-Athlete Support Services provides access to a full time Learning Specialist who ensures the individual academic needs of each student-athlete are met. Learning Services staff will:
- Provide individual academic support to student-athletes
- Promote academic skill-building, self-advocacy and time management
- Work closely with the Center for Disability Access and Resources to ensure student-athletes who are eligible receive appropriate academic accommodations

Summer Bridge Program and Freshman Transition
Student-Athlete Support Services offers a Summer Bridge Program for incoming freshman student-athletes to assist with the transition from high school to college. As a part of this program, student-athletes will enroll in core classes that will allow them to earn credits towards their degree before they begin their first fall semester. Student-Athlete Support Services will provide a structured academic environment to ensure new freshman adjust to the demands of college level classes.
Student-Athlete Support Services also offers a College Success Strategies course for incoming freshman student-athletes. Both the Summer Bridge Program and the College Success Strategies course will teach and promote the following:
- Successful academic habits and routines
- Time management strategies
- Academic accountability and advocacy
- Professional etiquette and life skills
Tutoring
Student-Athlete Support Services has a dedicated team of tutors who will lead subject-specific sessions for student-athletes in both one-on-one and small group settings. The tutorial staff are CRLA certified and are required to attend monthly training sessions with the Student-Athlete Support Services Tutorial Coordinator to ensure they are able to successfully lead their sessions. Tutoring sessions are:
- Provided on either a drop-in or recurring basisÂ
- Led by tutors who are experts on the given subject - Tutors are either upperclassmen, teaching assistants or graduate students
- Available between the hours of 8am and 9pm Monday-Thursday Â

Student-Athlete Support Services is hiring high achieving academic tutors! Tutors are required to have upperclassmen status, at least a 3.00 GPA and have earned an A or B in the class they are tutoring.
