Sam Chilsen joined the Vandal Football Staff in June of 2023 as an Offensive Graduate Assistant.
Prior to Idaho, Chilsen served as the Quarterbacks and Wide Receivers Coach at Valley City State University from May 2022 - June 2023.
Sam earned his Master of Science in Education (Sport Performance & Leadership) at Northern State University in 2021. At NSU, he was an offensive graduate assistant and tight ends coach. Chilsen helped the Wolves to a 7-4 record and their first Division II regional ranking in program history.
Chilsen spent two seasons at the University of Wisconsin - La Crosse (July 2018 - January 2020) as an assistant running backs coach in 2019 and an assistant quarterbacks coach in 2018. He helped the Eagles earn back-to-back seven-win seasons.
Sam received his Bachelor’s in Business Administration with a focus in Information Systems from the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire in 2018. At Eau Claire, Chilsen was an undergraduate assistant for the Blugolds football team. He assisted in video coordination, on-campus recruiting, and film breakdown.
Chilsen is a native of Onalaska, Wisconsin.
