Ben Madrid

Ben Madrid is back for his third season with the Vandals.  Madrid joined the program ahead of the 2017-18 season and has assisted with many aspects of the program while working toward his master’s degree in movement and leisure sciences.
 
During his time with Idaho he has aided in a number of facets of the program, from day-to-day operations to long term projects.  Madrid has helped with statistical analysis, court preparation, pregame report preparation/presentation and videography.  His attention to detail and willingness to go the extra mile have set Madrid apart.
 
Madrid earned his first master’s degree from Gonzaga University, where he worked as a physical education instructor graduate assistant.  Prior to that, he spent one season as a volunteer coach and student assistant strength and conditioning coach with the University of New Mexico men’s basketball program.
 
He began his collegiate career as a student assistant with the women’s basketball program at Metro State in Denver, his alma mater.  Madrid also served as an assistant strength and conditioning coach.
