Johnny Hill

Johnny Hill is in his second year as an Assistant Coach with the Vandals in the 2021-22 season.

Hill comes to Idaho from Grand Canyon University where he most recently was the Special Assistant to the Head Coach. Prior, he spent one year as a Graduate Assistant Coach at GCU. During his three years with the program, the Lopes had a 55-43 record, including a 27-19 record in Western Athletic Conference games.
 
He began his coaching career as an assistant at The University of Northwestern Ohio, also acting as the head coach of the junior varsity team.
 
Hill began his collegiate playing career at Illinois State, earning the teams Most Improved Player award. He played two seasons at the University of Texas Arlington, where he was named a team captain and started for the Mavericks. Hill completed his college playing career at Purdue, starting 11 games for a Boilermaker team which was nationally ranked throughout the year. He helped the team earn a five seed in the 2015-16 NCAA Tournament.
 
Education:
Hill made the Academic Honor Roll at both UT-Arlington and Purdue. He earned his Bachelor's from the University of Texas Arlington before obtaining a Master degree in Technology Leadership and Innovation from Purdue.
