2012-13: Did not play in any fall tournaments.

High school: 2012 graduate of North Valley High School ... In addition to being his team's Most Valuable Player from 2009-12, he also (over the same period of time) was the team's captain, a first-team all-conference choice and a first-team all-state selection ... he finished in the top four at the OSAA Golf State Championship all four years of high school and was the Skyline District champion as a junior and as a senior ... he won the OSAA state title by nine strokes during his senior season.

He joined the Future Collegians Tour and the American Junior Golf Association and finished in the top 15 in 75 percent of the events in which he played ... in the 2011 Eagle Crest Pacific Northwest Junior Golf Tour championship, he had  two-under 142.

Additionally, he represented the USA in the 2012 Wahlroth Cup and was the ODS Player of the Meet in 2012.

Melnychuk was a North Valley High School and OSAA Dairy Scholar-Athlete all four years of high school.

Personal: He is the son of Susan and Wayne Melnychuk and plans to major in business.
