Biography

Spring 2013: Knox went 1-0 in singles and 2-1 in doubles during the spring of 2013…he won in straight sets at No. 6 singles against Whitworth’s John Talbot…in doubles play her partnered with Abid Akbar to win at No. 2 against Denver, and also won alongside Ivan Krijanto at No. 2 against Whitworth.

Fall 2012: Knox went 7-6 in singles play and 5-5 in doubles…he reached the semifinals at the Eastern Washington Fall classic with wins in his first two matches…he reached the round of 64 at the ITA Mountain Regional Championships…in doubles action he reached the quarterfinals at the Pacific Northwest Intercollegiate.

Spring 2012: Knox went 7-8 in doubles, all at the No. 3 position, in spring 2012...he did not compete in singles play.

Fall 2011: Knox went 3-6 in singles and 2-3 in doubles play during the fall…He advanced to the semifinals in doubles at the Boise State Fall Tournament with partner Jose Bendeck…he also won two consolation singles matches at the Pacific Northwest Intercollegiate.

Spring 2011: Knox went 10-3 in doubles action in the spring, all at the No. 3 position. He went 0-1 in WAC play. Knox did not play in Idaho's singles lineup in the spring.

Fall 2010: Jake teamed up with Sam Lyons and Abid Akbar to go 4-2 in doubles action in the fall...he and Akbar claimed the doubles championship at the Pacific Northwest Intercollegiate hosted by the University of Washington in Seattle, Wash...went 1-5 in singles play on t he season, and earned an opening round win at the PNW Intercollegiate to advance to the round of 16.

2009-2010: Knox went 1-0 in doubles matches in the spring, and 1-1 on the singles side. He finished 1-0 at the No. 5 spot. During the fall season Knox went 1-3 in singles matches and 1-2 in doubles.

Junior Tennis: Knox was ranked as high as No. 12 in USTA Pacific Northwest in his age division and was ranked No. 10 on the tennisrecruiting.net recruiting list in the Pacific Northwest when he signed with the University of Idaho. Knox finished third in state in doubles his sophomore year and earned a fourth place finish in singles during his junior season.

Personal: Jake is the son of Robert and Judy Knox. His father played at Idaho, his sister Molly plays for the Idaho women's tennis team and his other sister Kasey played No. 1 at EWU. Major at Universtiy of Idaho is chemical engineering.
