Jane Chi joined the Idaho tennis program in the Spring of 2007 as the volunteer assistant coach for the men’s and women’s teams, bringing a weath of playing experience to the Idaho coaching staff.

Chi was a three-time all-American at for the University of California-Los Angeles in 1993-95. During the 1995 season, she was the No. 1 ranked college player in the United States and won the national collegiate indoor title. After leaving UCLA, Chi competed on the WTA Tour for seven years, participating in all grand slam events and achieving a career best ranking of 62. Associate head coach Tyler Neill and Jane Chi have also competed together in doubles, winning the Mercedes Summerfest mixed doubles championship twice.

Chi was began playing tennis at age 11 and has two younger sisters, Stephanie and Kathy who also play tennis. Chi is currently a law student at the University of Idaho College of Law.
