2018:  First team All-Big Sky… 393 kills and 3.28 per set, both second on the team… .266 hitting percentage, tied for third best on the team… MVP of the Idaho Volleyball Classic… Big Sky Offensive Player of the week on Aug. 27… 20 matches with double-figure kills…  Season-high 27 kills versus New Mexico on Aug. 25… 20 kills at Hawaii on Sept. 6… Played in all 33 matches… Played in 120 sets…

2017: Fifth in Big Sky with 3.53 kills per set...totaled a career-high 357 kills...recorded career-high 25 kills vs UIC (9/1/17)...hit a season-high .533 percent (16-0-30) at Grand Canyon (9/9/17)...totaled a career-high 17 double-figure kill matches...recorded four matches with 20 or more kills...career-high nine digs at NAU (10/7/17)...matched career-high with six blocks at NAU...averaged 3.86 points per set...MVP of the GCU Tournament...Big Sky Offensive Player of the Week (10/9/17)...Second Team All-Conference.

2016: Surpassed 400 career kills, totaling a career-high 255 kills…recorded a career-high 21 kills at Weber State (10/13/16)…ranked third on the team with 2.60 kills per set…was also third on the team with a .236 hitting percentage…hit a season-high .483 (16-2-29) at North Dakota (11/5/16)…totaled a team-high 15 double-figure kill matches…was voted to the UNM Invitational All-Tournament team…led Idaho with 11 kills in the loss to North Dakota in the Big Sky Tournament…averaged 2.81 points per set.

2015: Earned her first start vs. North Dakota in the Big Sky Tournament…posted a season-high 18 kills in the Big Sky Quarterfinal win over UND (Nov. 19)…named to the Big Sky All-Tournament team with 3.56 kills per set and a .426 hitting percentage…hit a season-best .800 percent against Southern Utah (Nov. 5)…had a season-high six blocks at Northern Arizona (Oct. 1)…finished the season with 156 kills and 32 blocks in 70 set...Idaho Athlete of the Week for Nov. 23.

 2014: Straw sat out a redshirt season in 2014.

High School: Straw was league MVP in 2012 and 2013…was a second-team all-conference selection in 2011…averaged 5.97 kills per set and hit .422 with 448 total kills during her senior season in 2013…averaged 3.72 digs per set in 2013 and had 49 blocks and 37 aces…was team-captain in 2013…played club volleyball for Splash out of Spokane, Wash., for nine years and reached the junior national championships in 2011, 2012 and 2013.

Personal: Full name is Kaela Kay Straw…daughter of Jim and Nancy Straw…born Sept. 28, 1995 in Spokane, Washington…her father played baseball and her mother ran track collegiately at Eastern Washington University…has a younger sister, Alisha.
