Matt Brewer

Matt Brewer

Matt Brewer was hired as the Associate Athletic Director for Compliance on November 7, 2022.

Prior to working for Idaho, Brewer served as an NCAA compliance consultant for a little over a year and he still teaches NCAA compliance related material to outside institutions and organizations.

Brewer was the Associate Athletic Director at Boise State University from January 2015 until August 2021. He oversaw the Compliance Office at Boise State, while sitting on the senior leadership team and serving as the sport program administrator for softball and men’s basketball.

Prior to Boise State, Brewer was an Assistant Director of Academic and Membership Affairs at the NCAA in Indianapolis for over four years, sitting on the Student-Athlete Reinstatement Team as well as helping to develop the Institutional Performance Program for Division I athletics.

Prior to the NCAA, Brewer worked for Colorado State University where he was assistant athletic director in charge of compliance for three and a half years. While in that capacity, Brewer served the membership on the NCAA Division I Personnel and Recruiting Cabinet as the Mountain West Conference representative. 

Prior to working at Colorado State, Matt worked in compliance for Washington State University for four years. He also spent some time at Arizona State University as an intern in both the marketing and compliance offices.

Originally from Sammamish, WA, Brewer earned a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Whitman College in Walla Walla, Washington and a Master’s degree in Education from Washington State University. As an undergraduate, Brewer was a four-year starter on the baseball team and team captain for two seasons, earning all-conference honors as a senior.

Matt currently resides in Moscow, Idaho with his wife Shanna and daughters Hailey and Kylie.
