MOSCOW, Idaho - Interim University of Idaho president Gary Michael is weighing his options as he determines who will replace Mike Bohn as the director of athletics for the Vandals.

Bohn, who had been with the Vandals since March 1998, was hired Monday afternoon as the director of athletics at San Diego State University.

"Mike has done an outstanding job for the University of Idaho," Michael said. "He guided the athletics department through an era of significant transition. While we are saddened to see him go, we respect his decision and wish him the very best in his new role."

Michael said he plans to meet with athletic department staff prior to appointing an interim director and proceeding with a search for a permanent appointment.
