"Doc" Green served as President of the Idaho Association for Health and Physical Education; was a member of the State of Idaho PTA board; President of the Northwest Section of the American Association for Health, Physical Education and Recreation from 1950-1974, and National Co-director for Student Services of that organization in 1959.  He has received numerous awards including the University of Idaho Outstanding Faculty Award, U of I Outstanding Alumni Award, University of Idaho Alumni Association Silver and Gold Award, Idaho Parks & Recreation Society Fellowship Award, induction into the Idaho Hall of Fame for Athletics, and induction into the Idaho High School Activities Association.
