2010 Vandal summer camps

MOSCOW - The University of Idaho campus and its athletic teams will stay busy over the summer as six teams will host summer camps for elementary, junior high, and high school students. The Vandal football, men's and women's basketball, golf, soccer and volleyball teams will each host camp over the summer. See the information below for specific information on each team's camps. All camps are coached by University of Idaho coaches and student-athletes. For more information or to register, visit www.VandalCamps.com.

FOOTBALL
The University of Idaho football team will host a one-day high school skills camp, along with a three-day Jr. Kids camp this summer. Both camps will be offered in Moscow and Post Falls.

Jr. Kids Camp
June 15-17 (Moscow, UI campus)
June 23-25 (Post Falls, Post Falls High School)
For: Kids ages 7-13, or entering 8th grade fall of 2010
Time: 8 a.m. - 12 p.m.
Cost: $90
Other information: Medical personnel and adult supervision will be provided at all times during the camp. 

One-day High School Skills Camp
June 18 (Moscow, UI Campus)
June 28 (Post Falls, Post Falls High School)
For: High School students entering grades 9-12 in fall of 2010
Time: 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. (One hour break and lunch will be provided)
Cost $50

MEN'S BASKETBALL
The Vandal men's basketball team will host its individual skills camp June 21-24, and its team camp June 28-30. Camps will be held in the Memorial Gym.

Individual Skills Camp
June 21-24
For: Boys entering grades 1-9
Time: 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. (Gym supervised 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.)
Cost: $150 if registered by June 6, $175 after June 6. $90 half-day (9 a.m. - 12 p.m.) Faculty Rate: $125 before June 6, $150 after June 6.
Other Information: Campers can bring their own lunch, or purchase lunch at the camp. Walkups welcome on June 21 at 7:30 a.m.

Team Camp
June 28-30
For: High school teams
Time: Three days/two nights. Lodging and food included
Cost: $230 per camper
Other Information: Eight games guaranteed; two-minute tournament; highly competitive big school, small school, JV and Freshman brackets; Play schools outside of state and region (Utah, Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana and Canada); Games officiated by certified three-man crews.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
The Idaho women's basketball team will host three camps this summer, with the Junior Vandal Camp, Vandal Camp, and Vandal Scrimmage Days.

Junior Vandal Camp
June 16-18
For: Girls entering grades K-6 (Junior Vandal)
Time: 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. (commuter only)
Cost: $50

Vandal Camp
June 16-18
Girls entering grades 7-12 (Vandal)
Time: 1 p.m. - 4 p.m. (commuter only)
Cost: $50

Vandal Scrimmage Days
June 14, 15, 19
For: High school teams
Time: 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Cost: $125/team (lunch included)

GOLF
University of Idaho men's golf coach Jon Reehoorn will co-direct a five day camp in conjunction with Washington State University and Nike Golf Schools. Reehoorn will team up with WSU head women's golf coach Kelli Kamimura as camp directors.

July 11-15
For: Boys and girls of any skill level ages 10-18
Time: Five days/four nights (extended day option available)
Cost: $875 (Overnight fee)
$775 (Extended day fee)

SOCCER
Idaho soccer coach Pete Showler will host the Northwest Premier Soccer Academy this summer for kids ages 6 and up. The camps will consist of an individual camp, a girl's high school team camp and a goalkeeper camp. The individual and goalkeeper camps are open to male and female athletes.

For: (Boys and girls) Youth, ages 6-9; Intermediate, ages 10-12
Time: 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.
Cost: $95

Team Camp
July 26-29
For: Girl's high school teams, players entering grades 9-12
Time: Three days/two nights
Cost: $350 (resident); $225 (commuter); $125 (goalkeeper)
(discount for teams of 20 or more)
Other Information: Goalkeeper camp will be two hours daily, open to ages 12-18

VOLLEYBALL
The Idaho volleyball team will be hosting three summer camps in 2010, with the individual skills camp, youth camp and team camp.

Individual Skills Camp
July 11-14
For: Players entering grades 7-12
Time: Three days/two nights
Cost: $315 (resident); $260 (commuter with meals); $220 (commuter without meals)

Youth Camp
July 12-14
For: Players entering grades 3-6 (No experience necessary)
Time: 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. (commuter only)
Cost: $75

Team Camp
Dates: July 14-17
For: High school teams (minimum eight players per team)
Time: Four days/three nights
Cost: $280 per camper (resident); $220 (commuter with meals); $180 (commuter without meals)
