MOSCOW, Idaho – Aaron Mohun and Jessica Matthews have been selected as the Student-Athletes of the Month for March by Vandal Academic Services, supported by P1FCU.
Mohun is a freshman on the Vandal Men's Golf team, who has traveled across the pond from Chester, England to Moscow, Idaho, maintaining a 4.0 GPA as a Mathematics major while balancing the workload of a student-athlete.
"Aaron has come to Idaho and has been taking difficult courses as a freshman", stated Assistant Director of Student-Athlete Support Services Stacey Hyde. "He is ambitious and is showing he is up for the challenge. I am excited to see where this degree takes him!"
Matthews is a junior on the Vandal Women's Tennis team, earning a degree in Economics. Since arriving in Moscow originally from London by way of Iowa, Matthews has been a mainstay in Idaho's rotation while maintaining a GPA of 3.6 in her academic pursuits.
"Jessica works so hard in the classroom", said Hyde. "She shows motivation and great work ethic; it has been great working with her!!"
Both Vandals have demonstrated excellent commitment to balancing the life of a student-athlete, which demands a lot of anyone, regardless of their sport or major. In the case of Matthews and Mohun, they have each proven that they can succeed in fast-paced environments no matter how far they are from home.
P1FCU is proud to partner with the Idaho Vandals and support the financial literacy education of our students through various programs. Learn more at p1fcu.org/govandals.
