Future Vandal wraps up stellar prep career
Idaho soccer signee Torell Stewart put an exclamation point on an already stellar high school career last week, as her Mountain Vista High School (Colorado) team won its second state championship in three seasons, and finished the season as the No. 2 ranked girls soccer team in the nation, according to MaxPreps.com.
Stewart was selected as the Player of the Game in the championship game, as she shut out Rock Canyon in the 1-0 overtime victory. Stewart was also voted MVHS's defensive MVP for the 2013 season.
Mountain Vista finished the season with a 19-1 record. Stewart played all 20 games on the season, allowing just five goals all year.
Stewart is part of Idaho's 14-player incoming class that will join the team in the fall.
