Thigpen earned Baseline Conference co-Offensive MVP after a stellar senior season as he led the Baseline League and West Valley Division of California in rushing with 260 carries for 1,855 yards and 18 touchdowns. He had more than 100 yards in every game and earned SoCal Prep Legends Athlete of the Week after covering 339 yards on 24 carries vs. Ayala. He also had two games of more than 200 yards. Twice, he had four touchdown runs. In addition to his rushing, he added 77 receiving yards (he scored one receiving TD) and 88 kick return yards for 2,020 all-purpose yards. As a junior, he had 1,254 yards on 218 carries, which includes seven games of more than 100 yards and a season-best of 212. He scored 12 rushing touchdowns and had another 22 yards receiving. He approached the 1,000-yard mark as a sophomore with 898 yards on 128 carries – 13 of which were touchdowns. He wrapped up his career as Damien's all-time leading rusher (4,256 yards in 25 games) in addition to setting school single-game and single-season records.
