MOSCOW, Idaho – The regular season is just four short days away, and the Idaho women's soccer team is working hard to pick up right where last year left off. The Vandals took on Eastern Oregon in an exhibition on Monday, wrapping up the preseason with a solid performance.
The veterans continue to show what made them the Big Sky Regular Season Champions last season, but the newcomers are right on their heels. Competition has been fierce in training, with several newcomers challenging for starting spots and significant minutes.
Head coach
Derek Pittman used a number of different lineups against Eastern Oregon, experimenting with different formations and strategies for the final tune-up of the preseason.
The Vandals get the season started on Friday at South Dakota. Idaho returns home on Sunday to take on Grand Canyon at 1 p.m. The Vandals will then take on Gonzaga at 5 p.m. at Guy Wicks Field on Friday prior to hitting the road for more than one month.
