PREVIEW: Idaho got its first win of the Big Sky season last weekend, defeating Montana State 83-81 in overtime.
Victor Sanders drained three free throws in the closing seconds to force the extra period. The game remained close in extra time, with
Brayon Blake hitting the game-winner on a tip-in with 2.2 to play.
Weber State is the lone unbeaten team remaining in the Big Sky at 2-0. The Wildcats did not get an official game in last weekend, as their tilt at Idaho State was postponed due to a leaking roof.
LAST MEETING: Idaho defeated Weber State in the lone meeting last year in Moscow, 62-58. Sanders put the Vandals up in the final minute with a 3-pointer and then the Vandal defense took over.
Perrion Callandret sealed the win with a pair of free throws late.
HELP HIM OUT: Victor Sanders has stepped up as Idaho's top scorer this season, leading the team in 12-of-14 games so far. However, Idaho has had its most success when others also get involved on the offensive end. So far this year, Idaho is 6-3 in games when at least two players other than Sanders score in double-figures. The Vandals are 4-1 in games that
Nate Sherwood and
Chad Sherwood combine to score over their season average as a duo and 5-0 in games that
Ty Egbert scores at least five points.
