PREVIEW: Both teams are currently riding three-game winning streaks, the longest in the conference. Idaho took down Southern Utah and Northern Arizona at home last weekend, while Montana State got the difficult road sweep at Sacramento State and Portland State.
LAST MEETING: The first meeting was one for the ages, as Idaho eked out an 83-81 overtime win at home. The Vandals trailed by three in the closing seconds of regulation and got one extra opportunity to tie after
Nate Sherwood managed to tip out what would prove to be the final rebound of regulation to
Victor Sanders at the top of the arc. Sanders was fouled on the 3-point attempt and hit all three from the line to force overtime.
The game stayed close in the extra frame. Idaho had the ball in the closing seconds again, this time with the game tied. After a difficult shot attempt went begging, both
Nate Sherwood and
Brayon Blake were waiting underneath for the potential tip-in. Blake got his hand on the ball first and tipped-in the game-winner with about two seconds to play.
