INDIAN WELLS, Calif.—Idaho junior Marianna Petrei is one of 64 singles players set for the 2017 Oracle ITA Fall Championships this week. The tournament hosted at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden as well as the JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort & Spa gets underway on Wednesday.

Petrei, ranked No. 71 in the ITA's preseason standings, qualified for the tournament with her run at the ITA Mountain Regionals earlier this month. She won the tournament's main draw, earning one of 24 automatic bids. Petrei has wins over four ranked opponents this fall, including No. 11 Estela Perez-Somarriba.

The back-to-back Big Sky MVP will take on Georgia Tech's Paige Hourigan in the first round. That match is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. PT. Hourigan began the season ranked No. 49 in the nation. The entire first round will be completed on Wednesday, with the tournament set to conclude on Sunday.

The 2017 Oracle ITA National Fall Championships, which serves as the concluding event to the fall portion of the college tennis schedule, is the only intercollegiate event to feature competitors from all five divisions competing for a national championship.
