MOSCOW, Idaho—The Idaho volleyball team just concluded its spring season last weekend, but continues to build for the fall. Head coach
Debbie Buchanan announced the addition of College of Southern Idaho transfer
Alycia Wodke on Tuesday.
Wodke, a Eugene, Ore., native, helped CSI to a 62-9 record in her two seasons in Twin Falls. The Eagles won two Scenic West Athletic Conference titles, a Region 18 title and a National Junior College National Championship.
"I am extremely excited that Alycia is going to be joining our program this fall," Buchanan stated. "She is a very competitive player with a great mid-set. She is going to make our gym better."
She made an immediate impact at CSI, earning Region 18 First-Team honors as a freshman. She totaled 3.34 kills and 3.46 digs per set last season, earning Region 18 Player of the Year and NJCAA All-America honors. She finished her career at CSI ranked fifth all-time with 813 kills and 843 digs.
"Alycia has been a six rotation player the past two season at CSI," Buchanan continued. "She is going to come in and compete on the outside and libero positions for us. She has outstanding ball control and amazing leadership on the court that will help us out right away."
The outside hitter/libero, recorded 16 double-doubles for the Eagles last season. She set a career-high with 27 kills in CSI's win over Snow College (Oct. 14). Wodke totaled seven career matches with 20 or more digs. She totaled a career-best 23 digs last season against Missouri State WP (Sept. 3).
Wodke graduated from Willamette H.S., in 2014. She was All-League all four years and earned All-State honors her junior and senior seasons. Wodke played club for Webfoot Juniors, helping them to a fifth-place finish at nationals in her senior season.
