Baggerly and Daggs form strongest bond off the pitch

This summer, GoVandals.com will be taking a deeper look into the worlds of its athletes with the Vandal Tribune.  Stay tuned all summer to hear directly from some of your favorite Vandals.

Olivia Baggerly and Josilyn Daggs both joined the Idaho women's soccer team ahead of the 2014 season, Derek Pittman's first in charge of the Vandals.  The two were key members in Idaho's climb to the top of the Big Sky, and formed an unbreakable bond along the way.

DAGGS - I remember! I was living with my aunt and all the freshmen were coming in
and they had to stay in the apartments with the other girls.  But I get a text message
from Olivia and she's like 'hey where are you staying?' and I'm just like 'I'm with my aunt, just hanging out.'

BAGGERLY – We didn't even know each other, I got her number off Facebook.

I didn't even meet her at all, because she was late coming in.  But she texted me again,
'do you think I could stay with you, would that be possible?' and I just said 'yeah, let me ask my aunt!'
So I asked and she was cool with it.  I just remember her coming in and just being like 'hey…'  IT WAS AWKWARD.

IT WAS AWKWARD, but 10 minutes in we were hitting it off.  I honestly don't remember what made me reach out.
I think I was the last freshman to commit.  I just knew I needed to find a roommate
and everybody else was all set.  I don't even know, you looked nice maybe?

I mean I was talking to Chloe?

That's what it was!  It was Chloe, she said she met Josi and that she was cool so I was like,
'all right here we go.  YOU DON'T KNOW ME BUT I'M GOING TO LIVE WITH YOU.'

We were listening to music, and we were singing to the music and then we learned that we both
know how to sing and we were like 'dude, we can sing together.  This is awesome!'  We just spent
every day of the summer together and we just got so close so fast.

I just think for me and her, when soccer gets really, really stressful, singing is such a medication for us.
We sing all the time, we don't post all the videos but there are so many songs that we sing together when things are really tense.
I think that's been something that we were God-gifted with.  It's such a stress-reliever.  I think that even if you can't sing you should sing.

Even just us together, how things just happen.  It's crazy.  If she didn't contact me I don't know that we'd be this close.

It's funny, because people point out that we're opposites in every way possible,
but we're best friends.  Everything about us is different, but we're like
TWO PEAS IN A POD.

We should sing at like a coffee shop or something.

I don't know dude, that's really pushing it for me.

I mean maybe?  WE'LL SEE.
