GREELY,Colo.— Idaho (20-9, 15-3) earned the No. 2 seed in the Big Sky Tournament, finishing with its best conference record since rejoining the Big Sky in 2014.
Postseason begins Thursday for Idaho volleyball, when the Vandals face the Grizzlies of Montana in the Big Sky Quarterfinals at 3:30 p.m. (Pacific).

The 2018 Big Sky Conference Volleyball Championship will be hosted Thursday through Saturday, Nov. 22-24 at Bank of Colorado Arena on the campus of Northern Colorado in Greeley, Colo. The top eight teams in the conference regular season standings advance to the championship.
The quarterfinals will be played on Thursday, Nov. 22. The semifinals will take place on Friday, Nov. 23, and the finals are set for Saturday, Nov. 24 at 7:30 p.m. MT.
The winner of the championship receives the Big Sky's automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament.
All matches will be streamed for free on Pluto TV Channel 231 and WatchBigSky.com. The semifinals and championship will also air on Eleven Sports.
MATCHUP: Idaho is 35-25 all-time against Montana. The Vandals bested the Grizzlies 3-0 twice already this season.
LAST MATCH: Idaho volleyball (21-9, 15-3) closed out the regular season in style with a sweep of Southern Utah (6-24, 5-13) on Senior Night to earn a share of the 2018 Big Sky Volleyball Regular Season Championship. The Vandals enter the Big Sky Tournament in Greeley, Colo., as the No. 2 seed.
Reece Carman and
Sarah Sharp paced the Vandals with 11 kills each, while Carman was able to add four blocks.
Kaela Straw joined them in double-figures with 10 kills.
DeVonne Ryter had a balanced night with six kills while hitting .625, to go along with six blocks.
Alycia Wodke chipped in with 25 digs and
Haylee Mathis added 36 assists.
BIG SKY TOURNAMENT: 2018 marks Idaho's 14th consecutive conference postseason tournament. The Vandals won Big Sky championships in their final four seasons in the Big Sky, 1992-95, before returning to the conference in 2014. Idaho winning a share of the regular season title is a first since the 1995.
BIG SKY POW: Big Sky Conference announced its final volleyball players of the week Monday. Wodke was selected as the Defensive Player of the Week. She posted 42 digs and averaging 7.00 digs per set last week. Idaho went 1-1 over the week, dropping road challenge at Northern Arizona (0-3), Wodke had 17 digs. She followed it up with 25 digs on Senior Night as the Vandals swept Southern Utah.
ALL-BIG SKY: Big Sky Conference announced its volleyball All-Conference team and individual awards Tuesday morning.
Wodke was voted Big Sky's Co-Libero of the Year. Seniors
Sharp,
Ryter and
Straw, were recognized as First Team All-Conference selection. Seniors
Carman and Wodke were both selected as Second Team All-Conference.
NATIONAL RANKS: Nationally, Idaho ranks in the top 10 percent for hitting percentage (.261), blocks per set and team blocks (2.65) while clearing the top 20 percent for opponent hitting percentage (.178), kills per set (13.53), and assist per set (12.72).
Milestones: On November 10th,
Wodke registered over 1,000th career digs as she enters the final stretch of the 2018 season. Earlier in the season,
Straw and
Haylee Mathis achieved similar achievements. Straw tallied her 1,000th kill while Mathis collected her 2,500th assist. Sharp posted her 1,300
th kills on Senior Night in sweep over Southern Utah on Nov. 17.
BY THE NUMBERS: The Vandals lead the league in hitting percentage (.271), assist per set (13.39), kills per set (14.19) and blocks per set (2.70). Idaho is second-best in opponent hitting percentage (.159). Idaho also has five players in the top 10 of six different categories in the Big Sky leader boards.
Ryter ranks among the top 10 percent (16
th) nationally in hitting percentage (.396).
