Box Score SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif.—Idaho's men's tennis fell 4-2 at Cal Poly on Thursday. The Vandals have now dropped the first three matches of their current four-match road trip. Idaho will look to recover on Saturday against Sacramento State.
The Mustangs got on top of Idaho early on. Cal Poly registered wins at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles to take the 1-0 lead.
Idaho fell down 3-0 after the first two singles courts went the way of Cal Poly.
Guilherme Scarpelli dropped his first set to Axel Damines, 7-6, before retiring from play at No. 3. Dominic Bechard, Cal Poly's No. 1, got by
Carlos Longhi Neto in straight sets, 6-4, 6-3.
The Vandals picked up the next two courts to get within a point.
Felipe Fonseca took down Alexander Stater, 6-2, 6-1, at No. 4.
Esteban Santibanez followed up with a 6-1, 6-4 win at No. 5
The Mustangs clinched the win with Antione Noel's three-set win over
Mark Kovacs in No. 2 play.
