MISSOULA, Mont.—The Vandals had a friendly face return to the lineup on Friday. Junior
Marianna Petrei was welcomed back, helping Idaho sweep Montana, 7-0.
Petrei fit back into her role at the No. 1 position in both doubles and singles. She partnered with
Maria Tavares for a 6-1 win to open the morning. Idaho took the doubles point with
Lucia Badillos and
Laura Spataro's 6-4 win at No. 2.
Tavares continued her dominance over Big Sky opponents in singles action. She moved to 8-0 in conference play, scoring a 6-0, 6-1 win over Cam Kincaid at No. 2. Spataro, a freshman, picked up her 10th win of the season, improving to 7-5 at the No. 4 slot. Petrei clinched the win for Idaho. She went 6-3, 7-5 over Julia Ronney.
Badillos moved to 6-2 in conference play, walking off the No. 3 court with a 6-3, 6-4 win.
Maggie Chen breezed past Eimear Maher with a decisive 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 6.
Shion Watabe won her fifth consecutive match, posting a 7-5, 6-2 win at No. 5.
The Vandals play their road finale against Montana State (9 a.m. PT) on Saturday.
