RESULTS

PULLMAN, Wash. – Idaho women's tennis made the quick trip over to Pullman for the Cougar Classic, hosted by Washington State.  Five individuals advanced, as well as one doubles team.
 
WSU, Montana State, Seattle U., Utah State, Eastern Washington, Montana and Gonzaga were present on Friday in Pullman.
 
Melissa Huchet got an opening-round win, defeating Peggy Rooke of Seattle U. in straight sets, 6-1, 6-2.  Laura Spataro also earned a win, taking down Gonzaga's Tamara Anderson, 7-6 (3), 6-1.
 
Marta Magalhães defeated Katie Day of Gonzaga, 7-5, 6-2.  Ilana Oleynik was in a tough match with Marta Heinen of Eastern Washington, and eventually came out on top, 7-5, 4-6, 6-3.
 
Maggie Chen advanced after her opponent withdrew.
 
Chen and Oleynik teamed up to defeat a pair from Seattle U., 6-3.
 
Competition continues in Pullman on Saturday.
