FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – Idaho volleyball (13-17, 9-9 BSC) closed out the regular season on Saturday, falling to Northern Arizona (20-10, 13-5 BSC) in three sets.
The Vandals next look to the Big Sky Championship in Sacramento. Idaho will be the No. 6 seed, after finishing the regular season at 9-9 in Big Sky play.
NAU jumped out to an early lead in the opening set and never looked back. The Lumberjacks continued to build throughout, taking the set 25-16.
Idaho bounced back early in the second and led, 4-3. NAU responded with a 7-1 run to take a lead of its own, before the Vandals fought back to make it a one point match at 12-11. The Lumberjacks locked in from there, and eventually took the set, 25-16.
The third set went to NAU early. The Lumberjacks got up 12-3 and never looked back, taking the set, 25-12.
The Big Sky Championship is up next, taking place in Sacramento, Nov. 28-30. The Vandals await the result of Weber State-Montana State to determine its opening match. Should Weber State lose, the Vandals will open against the Wildcats. Should Weber State win, the Vandals open with a rematch against the Lumberjacks. The Vandals will likely open play at 1:30 p.m. in Sacramento.
