Big Sky Release College Sports Madness Release
MOSCOW, Idaho—For the first time this season
Gina Marxen has earned Big Sky Conference Player of the Week honors as announced by the conference office Wednesday.
Marxen, the reigning Big Sky Freshman of the Year, and a preseason All-Conference selection, helped lead the Vandals to a 90-84 double-overtime win over Seattle last week with a career-high 30 points.
The sharpshooting sophomore played all 50 minutes and drained seven three-pointers, a career high, while finishing 8-16 from the floor.
Marxen also found success at the free-throw line against the Redhawks, finishing 7-8 from the charity stripe.
The Sammamish, Washington native also added in five rebounds and three assists, including an assist on
Beyonce Bea's three-pointer to force overtime in the fourth quarter.
In addition to being recognized by the Big Sky Conference, Marxen was tabbed as the Big Sky Conference Player of the Week by College Sports Madness.
Marxen is averaging 16 points per game this season and leads the Big Sky Conference in minutes per game (39.8), three-pointers made per game (3.8), and assist/turnover ratio (3.8).
