Vandals Prep for Four-Day Business Trip in the PNW

MTEN heads to Oregon and Washington for four matches in four days

MOSCOW, Idaho—Back on the road again for the Vandals, but this time around Idaho prepares to take its talents to Oregon and Washington for a four-day business trip.

Thursday is the first of four matches as the Vandals take on George Fox, a nationally ranked DIII team, which is slated for an evening start. For its second match, men's tennis heads to Portland State for a Big Sky Conference face-off with Portland State Friday and then the University of Portland Saturday. The Vandals will round out its final match at Seattle University in Washington on Sunday.

LAST TIME OUT: MTEN Defeat Warriors
Men's tennis collected its first win of the season with a 6-1 non-conference victory over Lewis-Clark State College last Sunday.

The Vandals (1-2, 0-1 Big Sky) swept in doubles in straight sets to steal an early lead. Peter Shin and Bruno Casino took a dominant 6-2 win on court three to set the tone. Courts one and two followed in suit with 7-5 victories.

In the singles round, the Vandals won on five courts, also in straight sets.

FALL RECAP
In the fall season, Idaho competed in the ITA Mountain Regionals in October. Junior Guilherme Scarpelli advanced to the singles semifinals where he lost to second-seeded and nationally ranked Ricky Hernandez of the University of New Mexico in the singles semifinals, 6-1, 6-3.

BIG SKY PREDICTIONS
Idaho totaled 72 points with two first-place votes, putting last season's Big Sky regular-season champs in third place. Northern Arizona was the leading vote-getter, receiving eight first-place votes and collecting 98 points and Montana took second place.
