Eugene, Ore.—Idaho women's tennis team defeated the Ducks in a down-to-the-wire 4-3 match on Friday at the Student Tennis Center.

 The Vandals fell early to Oregon in doubles action.

Laura Spataro and Anna Stefani suffered a tough 6-1 loss at doubles No. 2 first. Marta Magalhães and Shion Watabe followed suit in a 6-3 defeat at court three. 

Idaho was able to take control of singles to secure the win over Oregon. The Vandals captured to quick points due to a victory on court five and an Oregon forfeit on court six.

In comeback fashion, the Ducks put two consecutive points on the board after wins at No. 4 and 3. Despite the short rally, seniors Petrei and Tavares secured Idaho's second ever win over the Ducks in Eugene. 

Friday's win in Eugene marks the second win for the Vandals in the all-time series versus Oregon. The last time Idaho beat the Ducks was on April 18, 2014.
