BANDON, Ore. - Idaho men's golf is in 17th after the first 18 holes of the Bandon Dunes Championship. The Vandals shot a 33-over 321 Sunday.
Enrique Marin led the Vandals with a 5-over 77, tied for 45th overall. The tournament is being played on the Bandon Dunes Course at the Bandon Dunes Golf Resort.
After four bogeys in a six-hole stretch, Marin played the final four holes at even par to salvage his round.
Colt Sherrell also shot a sub-80 round, posting a 6-over 78. Sherrell opened the tournament with a double bogey but recovered to fire a team-best 12 pars.
Cole Chrisman carded a team-high four birdies in the first round. Chrisman battled through an up-and-down round which included just four pars and finished at 9-over 81.
The second round will tee off Monday, with a shotgun start set for 8:30 a.m. PT.
