LEWISTON, Idaho— Idaho men's tennis unable to complete comeback in 4-3 loss against Montana State on Thursday afternoon. It was Senior Day for Idaho's three student-athletes:
Carlos Longhi Neto,
Peter Shin and
Lucas Coutinho.
The Vandals started the day falling 1-0 to the Bobcats in doubles play, posting it only win at doubles No. 2 with
Esteban Santibanez and
Guilherme Scarpelli's 6-1 win.
Idaho posted the first singles win in an effort to match the Bobcats 1-1.
Esteban Santibanez defeated Dre Brown, 6-3, 6-2 at singles No 2. The Bobcats countered as Longhi Neto dropped a close 7-6, 7-1 game on court one. In a last stitch effort to steal the match, Coutinho and
Bruno Casino bested their opponents back-to-back at courts four and five. Montana State secured the match at singles No. 6 where
Peter Shin fell 6-1, 6-3.
UP NEXT
The men will be back in action this weekend on Saturday and Sunday as they head to south to Northern Arizona and Southern Utah. First up is NAU on Saturday for a 9 a.m. start.
