LEWISTON, Idaho— Idaho women's tennis stayed perfect in Big Sky Conference play Friday when they upended Montana, 6-1, at Lewis Clark State college tennis courts.
 
The Vandals got off to a quick lead, executing wins at doubles No. 1 and No. 2. Partners Maggie Chen and Laura Spataro finished first, sweeping the Griz 6-0. At Doubles No.1, Marianna Petrei and Maria Tavares captured their sixth conference doubles win, beating Montana 6-4.
 
The Vandals began singles action with a 1-0 edge. Petrei closed out her match first on court one with a 6-2, 6-1 sweep over Montana's Lauren Dunlap. Tavares followed, defeating Bianca Bostrom 7-5, 6-2 on court two. The Griz would get its only point of the match at singles No. 4 where Anna Stefani fell to Lidia Dukic in two sets, 6-3, 6-4. Clinching the match, Spataro routed UM's Nathalie Joanlanne 7-5, 6-3.
 
Although Idaho had already won the match, the remaining courts were played out. Marta Magalhães  bested Alex Walker 6-4, 6-1 on court five and Shion Watabe closed out the day with a 6-3, 6-1 win over Montana's Claudia Reguant.
