MOSCOW, Idaho -Â
Enrique Marin by the numbers: six Big Sky Player of the Week awards; three all-conference honors; two All-Big Sky First Team recognitions; one team conference championship. All of those accomplishments led to the biggest one yet. On Saturday, Marin will be among 48 student-athletes graduating from the University of Idaho. Marin will earn his degree in business finance. With graduation in sight, the Sotogrande, Spain native caught up with the Big Sky Conference to discuss what Idaho, his sport and his team have meant to him.
What's the best thing about attending the University of Idaho?
I'd probably say the family I've created with my friends, coaches, and the staff. Also, all the competition we get to play. There's been some amazing golf courses with tough competition.
What was a personal goal of yours heading into this season?
A personal goal was to become a leader for my team and to be an example for the freshmen and sophomores that just arrived. Overall, the goal is to become Big Sky Champions. Individually, I want win conference and play at regionals.
You're in your senior season. What has been one of your most memorable moments while at Idaho?
My most memorable moment was winning the Big Sky Championship my freshman year. Individually, shooting a 65 last year at Boulder Creek to finish third at the Big Sky Championships was nice.
