MOSCOW, Idaho – The defending Big Sky Tournament Champions looked the part on Friday night in the Kibbie Dome, as Montana (2-5-3, 1-0-0 BSC) defeated Idaho (3-8-0, 0-1-0 BSC) 1-0 to open conference play.
The Grizzlies scored the game's lone goal in the 13
th minute. Montana's Taylor Stoeger came down the right side and sent in a low cross that found Quinn Peacock on the near post for the tap-in.
Idaho's best chance came in the 59
th minute on a corner from
Maddie Haas.
Jenna Efraimson rose up and connected with her head, but her shot crashed into the crossbar and out of play.
The Vandals outshot the Grizzlies, 7-5, including 5-3 in shots on goal. Idaho committed 14 fouls, to 10 by Montana.
