MOSCOW, Idaho—After winning their sixth game at home this season the Vandals will travel to Greeley, Colorado to take on the Northern Colorado Bears Saturday, Jan. 25
th, at 1 p.m. in Bank of Colorado Arena.
The Vandals (10-5, 5-1) are coming off back-to-back home wins this past weekend. Idaho took down Eastern Washington 69-60 on Thursday before topping Montana 52-51 on Saturday. Northern Colorado enters the home contest 7-8 overall on the season and 3-3 in Big Sky playing following a two-game road trip which resulted in a 73-63 win over Sacramento State on Thursday before a loss to Northern Arizona 72-45 on Saturday.
Saturday's game at Northern Colorado marks just the 10
th meeting all-time between the two programs.
SCOUTING IDAHO
Idaho enters its seventh conference game of the season against Northern Colorado Thursday night 10-5 overall and 5-1 in Big Sky play.
Gina Marxen leads the Vandals in scoring this season with 13.5 points per game and in assists with 3.4 per game. In the win over Eastern Washington Marxen was one of three players to score in double-figures with 12 points. The sophomore form Sammamish, Washington leads the Big Sky in three-pointers made (48) and three-pointers made per game (3.2). In addition, Marxen leads the Big Sky in minutes player per game with 38.0.
Beyonce Bea is right behind Marxen, averaging 12.4 points per game. The freshman from Washougal, Washington is playing an average of 35.3 minutes per game this season, more than any freshmen in the conference. Bea has scored in double-figures a team-high nine times this season.
Lizzy Klinker rounds out a group of three players averaging double-figures this season with 10.9 points per game. Klinker recorded her first double-double of the season against Eastern Washington, to lead the team with 14 points and 11 boards before following it up with another double-double performance including13 points and a team-high 13 rebounds.
Natalie Klinker led Idaho last time out with a career-high 17 points against Montana to go along with 11 rebounds for her first double-double of the season. Natalie and her sister Lizzy combined for 30 points and 24 rebounds against the Lady Griz and have totaled 61 points and 65 rebounds over the past three games.
Idaho leads the Big Sky Conference defensively, holding its opponents to 58.9 points per game. The Vandals are holding opposing teams to a conference-best 35.4 percent field-goal percentage as well as a conference-best 26.4 percent three-point percentage. In addition, Idaho leads the Big Sky in defensive rebounding with 28.9 per game and in turnovers per game with a conference-best 12.2 per game.
SCOUTING NORTHERN COLORADO
Northern Colorado (7-8, 3-3) is set to host Idaho in the Big Sky following a loss to Northern Arizona. The Bears enter the home contest 2-3 this season at home. Northern Colorado has conference wins against Portland State, Montana, and Sacramento State and losses to Montana State, Weber State, and Northern Arizona.
Alexis Chapman leads the Bears in scoring this season as the only player averaging double-figures with 13.3 points per game. Chapman has made 36 three-pointers this season at a rate of 2.4 per game on 34.0 percent shooting. Chapman ranks third in the Big Sky in three-pointers made per game and seventh in three-point percentage, just behind Marxen.
Freshman Alisha Davis is averaging 8.9 points per game for the Bears while also leading the team in rebounding with 6.3 points per game. Davis also is second in the conference in blocks with 2.0 per game and has recorded a team-high 30 blocks this season.
Northern Colorado is fourth in the Big Sky in rebounds per game with 39.9 on the season while also ranking third in offensive rebounds per game with 13.9 per game this season.

Idaho and the Bears last met on Feb. 16
th, 2019 in Greeley. Northern Colorado topped Idaho 77-72.
SERIES HISTORY
Northern Colorado holds a big advantage in the series 7-2 all-time. The Vandals and Bears first met on Jan. 24
th, 2015. Idaho fell 70-52 in Greeley.
Northern Colorado has won the previous three meetings over Idaho between March 2018 and February 2019.
