Box Score PORTLAND, Oregon—Idaho men's tennis (1-1) fell to Portland (7-0) in the third road contest of the season.
 
The Pilots opened the match sweeping the Vandals in doubles play to win the doubles point.
 
In the number one singles match Francisco Bascon forced a tiebreaker in the first set but fell 7-3 and 7-6 in the set. Kostya Nesterenko went on to defeat Bascon, winning the second set 6-4.
 
Althaf Dhaifullah fell to Tom Hann 6-4 in the first set but took the second set 7-6, forcing a tie breaking third set. Hann defeated Dhaifullah 6-1 in the final set to win the point.
 
"This was a tough match," said Head Coach Daniel Hangstefer. "I thought we needed to do a little better job at key moments in our singles matches."
 
The Vandals will take a few weeks off from competition before hosting Lewis-Clark State College on Feb. 7^th.
 
"I am looking forward to spending the next two weeks on the practice courts with the guys to fine-tune a few things," added Hangstefer.
