Box Score LEWISTON, Idaho—Idaho men's tennis (3-2) defeated the George Fox Bruins 5-0 this morning in Lewiston.
Esteban Santibanez and
Francisco Bascon opened the match with a 6-2 win over Will Leach and Alex Namba.
Bruno Casino and
Althaf Dhaifullah clinched the doubles point in the No. 2 spot with a 6-2 win over Rox Rogers and Luke Lemaitre.
In the No. 3 doubles spot Guilherem Scarpelli and
Vivek Ramesh defeated Camden Camacho and Thierry Van os 6-3.
With the Vandals up 1-0 in the match after the doubles matches,
Esteban Santibanez put Idaho up 2-0 after defeating Rox Rogers 6-4, 6-2, in the No. 3 singles spot.
Bruno Casino put Idaho up 3-0 with his 6-4, 6-1, win over Alex Namba in the No. 4 singles spot.
Francisco Bascon clinched the match win for the Vandals by defeating Luke Lemaitre 4-6, 6-4, 6-1 in the No. 2 singles match.
Althaf Dhafiullah added a fifth point for the Vandals with his 6-7, 6-2, 6-3 win over Will Leach in the No. 1 singles match.
Vivek Ramesh and
Alejandro Sedeno were unable to finish their matches in the No. 5 and No. 6 spots.
"I thought the guys handled pressure situations pretty well today," said Head Coach
Daniel Hangstefer. "That was a tough team, but we pulled through and took care of business."
