Box Score LEWISTON, Idaho—Idaho men's tennis (2-2) defeated the Lewis State Clark Warriors 6-1 this afternoon in Lewiston.
 
Athaf Dhaifullah and Vivek Ramesh opened doubles play for the Vandals with a win over Luca Menezes and Roberto Salazar, 6-1, in the number three doubles spot. Guilherme Scarpelli and Bruno Casino took down Larry Magalasin and Marcus Gavelin in the number two doubles match, 6-1, to clinch the doubles point. After clinching the point, Esteban Santibanez and Francisco Bascon finished their match with a 6-3 win over William Bruchard and Vannasak Chheang.
 
In singles play Francisco Bascon won, 6-1, 7-6, over William Bruchard in the number one singles match. Bascon's win was his second of the season. Bascon's win gave the Vandals four points in the match, clinching the win.
 
Althaf Dhaifullah defeated Luca Menezes 7-6, 0-6, 6-4 in the number two singles match helping secure the win with the fifth point.
 
Bruno Casnio played in the number three spot today defeating Larry Magalasin, 6-4, 6-3 for the third point in the match.
Guilherme Scarpelli defeated Gunnar Harlan in the number four spot, 6-1, 6-1. Scarpelli was the first to finish his singles match for the Vandals, earning the second point of the match.
Vivek Ramesh moved into the fifth singles spot today and defeated Herman Vue 6-2,6-4 for Idaho's sixth point.
"It was nice to get the win,' said Head Coach Daniel Hangstefer. "It was a well fought match on both sides. We need to make sure we are a bit more aggressive in singles matches. Now it's time to continue to keep working on the practice courts!"

The Vandals will host George Fox and Whitman College next weekend in Lewiston.
