ST. GEORGE, Utah –
Valeria Patino closed out the BYU at Entrada Classic well on Tuesday, helping lead Idaho to a fifth-place finish among an impressive field in Utah.

The Vandals finished fifth overall after a tough third day that saw the squad shoot a combined 22-over. North Texas cruised to the team win at 11-over for the tournament. Iowa (+30) and BYU (+35) rounded out the top-3.

Patino led the way for Idaho with a 2-under 70 on the final day. The score tied the best of the day, with the tournament runner-up from Princeton, Tiffany Kong. Only two student-athletes broke 70 during the tournament. North Texas's Lauren Cox, the individual winner, and Patricia Sinolungan each shot 3-under 69's in the second round. Patino jumped five spots on the final day to finish in a tie for seventh overall at 5-over.

Vicky Tsai was second for the Vandals in 15
th overall. Tsai finished the tournament at 10-over after shooting a 7-over 79 on Tuesday.Â
Eddie Hsu and
Danika Palm also slid a bit on day two. Hsu finished tied for 51
st after an 11-over 83 on Tuesday, while Palm tied for 53
rd at 25-over for the tournament.

Idaho was the top-finishing Big Sky school. Portland State and Southern Utah placed 10
th and 11
th, respectively.

The team will next travel out to Mexico for the Hawkeye-El Tigre Invitational, hosted by Iowa, March 19-21.
