MOSCOW, Idaho – The University of Idaho Women's Tennis team will host Weber State and Southern Utah this weekend in their fourth and fifth Big Sky matches of the season, in Lewiston.
The Vandals are 2-6 overall on the season and are coming off a 3-4 loss at home to Eastern Washington.

th, at 12 p.m. before hosting Southern Utah on Saturday Mar. 7
th, at 1 p.m.
RECAP:
Idaho fell to 2-1 in Big Sky play last week in a 3-4 loss to Eastern Washington.
Laura Spataro and
Maggie Chen continued their winning ways in doubles with a 6-2 win.
Nicole Horacek and Andjela Todorovic also picked up a doubles win, 6-4, clinching the point. Laura Spataro and
Nicole Horacek were the only Vandals who picked up singles wins in the match.
SCOUTING IDAHO:
The Vandals return four players from last year's Big Sky runner up roster, including second team All-Big Sky selections
Laura Spataro and
Marta Magalhaes.
Spataro, a junior has 28 career singles wins to lead the Vandals while
Maggie Chen leads the team in career doubles wins with 26 all-time.
Chen and Spataro lead the Vandals in doubles play this season with four wins, all coming from the No. 1 spot.
Spataro leads the Vandals in singles wins with four just ahead of
Melissa Huchet with three.
The Vandals were picked to finish third in the Big Sky Preseason Women's Coaches Poll behind Weber State and NAU with 79 total votes.
SCOUTING WEBER STATE:
The Wildcats enter the contest 6-3 overall ahead of their first Big Sky match of the season. Weber State is coming off back-to-back non-conference wins over Seattle, 4-0, and Valparaiso, 4-0.
Caitlin Herb leads the Wildcats this season with a 7-2 record in singles play. Herb was recently named the Big Sky Player of the Week.
SCOUTING SOUTHERN UTAH:
The Thunderbirds enter the contest 2-8 overall on the season and are 0-1 in Big Sky play. Southern Utah is coming off a 1-6 loss to Boise State last weekend and will face Eastern Washington in Cheney on Friday prior to facing Idaho on Saturday. Southern Utah's only conference match of the season was a 0-7 loss to Portland State.
Paula Tascon is the singles leader for the Thunderbirds with a 3-4 overall record.
