BIG SKY RELEASE

FARMINGTON, Utah – The University of Idaho placed 48 student-athletes on the 2019-20 Big Sky Winter All-Academic Teams, as announced by the league offices on Tuesday.
 
Women's indoor track & field led the way with 21 selections, with Karina Moreland, Krista Story, and Emily Wesseling earning the honor for the fourth year.

The men's indoor track & field team placed 16 on the all-academic team, seven of which earned the recognition for the fourth time. Josiah Anderson, Ben Doucette, Dean Ellenwood, Kaizer Gillispie, Grayson Ollar, Drew Schultz, and Zachary Short all wrap up their indoor careers as four-time Big Sky Winter All-Academic recipients.

Women's basketball tied for the Big Sky lead with nine student-athletes. Five earned the recognition for the third time. Men's basketball placed two, with Scott Blakney earning garnering the honor for the third season.
 
The full list of honorees is below.  To be eligible for recognition, a student-athlete must carry at least a 3.2 cumulative grade-point average (on a 4.0 scale) and participate in at least 50 percent of the team's competitions. Track and field student-athletes can also become eligible by competing at the conference championship.
