COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) has selected the University of Idaho women's swimming and diving team for Scholar All-America honors for the spring of 2020. It is the 13
th consecutive semester that the team has been recognized.
"No team was unaffected by this Spring's pandemic but Athletic Director (Terry) Gawlik and President (Scott) Green can and should be proud of their team and the work of Mark (Sowa)," said CSCAA Executive Director Greg Earhart.
Teams were selected on the basis of their spring grade-point averages and represent 17,982 student-athletes. Programs that finished the semester above a 3.0 GPA were recognized. Idaho finished the spring with a team GPA of 3.60.
Idaho is one of 461 schools to receive the award this spring, across all divisions and both genders.
In total, 22 Vandals earned Academic All-WAC honors this year, including all eight graduating seniors this spring.
No team GPA numbers were released this year after many institutions made adjustments to their grading policies amid COVID-19 academic changes.
